How much does it really cost to rent a car in Malaysia? The daily rate is only part of the answer. You also need to think about the deposit, insurance, extras, tolls and fuel. This guide shows typical 2026 prices at KLIA, so you can plan your budget with no surprises.

Rent Longer, Pay Less Per Day
The daily rate drops the longer you rent. A 1 to 2 day rental has the highest daily rate, while weekly and monthly rentals cost much less per day.
For stays of a month or more, ask us about monthly rental and car subscription.
Peak Seasons Cost More
Prices are higher and cars sell out faster during:
- School holidays (especially December)
- Chinese New Year, Hari Raya and Deepavali
- Long weekends and major events

What’s Included in the Price
At SEIYON, every rental includes:
- Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)

Deposit
- RM1,000 on a credit card, held as an authorisation and released in full when you return the car in good condition
- Debit cards may be accepted as an exception, with different terms

Costs on the Road
- Fuel: our policy is full to full, so you only pay for the fuel you use. Return the car with a full tank.
- Tolls: Malaysian highways are cashless and use Touch ‘n Go. Toll costs depend on your route.
- Parking: city centres and malls charge by the hour, and hotels may charge a daily rate.
- Traffic summonses: paid by the driver, plus a RM30 admin fee per summons.

5-day trip from KLIA in a compact sedan (e.g. Honda City):
- Car rental: about RM5xx to RM7xx depending on season
- WiFi: RM79
- Additional driver: RM10
